PISCES FULL MOON
MARCH 19, 2011
By Douglas Clayton Uptain
Hello again, everyone. There is so much news that these days it seems overwhelming at times. Let’s begin by dispelling the internet rumors about the “Super Moon” that is going to possibly bring about the apocalypse this weekend. The recent excitement in some quarters is understandable since there really is an obvious major shift going on in front of our eyes. The events in Libya and Japan are enough to get anyone’s stress level up. So what are the facts about the “Super Moon?” As the Moon orbits the Earth every 28-29 days it swings in an elliptical orbit. When it is the closest to the Earth that is known as “perigee.” When it is farthest from the Earth that is known as “apogee.” It is true that this weekend the Moon will be in perigee and will be the closest to the Earth that it has been in 18 years. It happens to also coincide with the Full Moon. So it should make for some great astronomy viewing if you have a telescope or just some good binoculars.
It is also true that the gravity of the Moon does affect the tides on Earth. So we will probably have some stronger tides. However, that is most likely all that will happen. It is highly unlikely that the world as we know it will end. It is also very unlikely that this “Super Moon” will cause earthquakes or other Earth changes. There are some very good articles available if you Google “Super Moon.” ‘Nuff said on that. There are so many more significant things going on that we need to get to them. The most obvious one is the earthquake in Japan.
IMHO this event is very Karmic for humanity on this planet. Many people are referring to this as a “wake up call.” I agree with this assessment. Although I feel tremendous compassion for the people in Japan that are directly experiencing this, I feel very differently towards humanity as a whole. It is our hubris and egocentric behavior that has brought the scales of Justice down upon us. We have raped and pillaged the Earth for millennia, and justify it all under our denial that we are the only species on Earth that matters. I watch in dismay on the “News” as they glibly report that the radioactive plume is blowing out into the Pacific Ocean, so thank goodness, everything is A-OK. Really? What about the whales and dolphins, the fish and birds? We are dumping massive lethal doses of radiation into their home, but who cares, right? The Grand Architect of the Universe is ringing us up, but is anyone answering? Yes, the really good news is that an increasing number of people do hear the call, and are answering. The Lakota people where I have the privilege of living have an expression: “Mitakuye Oyasin.” It is translated as “All My Relations” or “we are all related.” A Native/Irish friend once explained to me that it meant not just humans, but every creature and everything, rivers, trees, birds, animals, insects, everything. This is the new paradigm. Everything and everyone are interrelated. Here is a profound message from a friend of Robert Wilkinson’s in Japan:
Practical Warrioring In Japan – We Are All One Life Together
by Robert Wilkinson
I just received an email from a friend in Japan reminding me that we ALL are being called to accept a higher view of our interrelatedness during this transitional time, because we all are affected by these events in profound ways. The world isn’t ending, but our old worldview is.
If we are truly One Life, then what affects any of us affects all of us. This includes the stones, plants, animals, and the greater Life that we call “Earth.” What’s going on is about more than just an earthquake and tsunami creating a local (and potentially global) nuclear crisis. This is about our relationship to the greater Life that we are all together.
The events of this time and the next thousand days will show us that any sense of separateness is an illusion that must end. As a result of this and major events to come in the relatively near future, we are all moving into a great evolutionary leap that’s happening whether we perceive it or not. These will offer us opportunities to end fear and remind us we are not separate from the life around us.
I believe what follows speaks a deeper wisdom in this time of great uncertainty. If the Warrior is also the Guardian, then to paraphrase a part of our dialog, these times call us to a deeper concern about “our collective future, and the current state of the human mind… It is all good.” This is what he wrote me:
“Thanks so much for your kind words. Telepathy works and I really feel your kindness deep into my heart. Here, we are all fine but a little bit concerned of what is really happening out there. As you know, the situation is not nice and extremely unclear.
Pictures speak by themselves and the government seems to be unable to deal with the nuclear situation. The good news is that my Gamma Scout has NOT been measuring high radiation levels at this point in Nagano, so that is a bit reassuring….;-)
The last couple of days, I have been pondering about our preparations, what can we learn from this experience and apply it into our future community projects. Firstly, and more important, to which degree can we really prepare for a nuclear fallout? Is it truly possible? What kind of existence can we have after it falls…?
……….Here, people are very sensitive about the nuclear issue since they suffered those nuclear blasts. So, I feel that after these series of tragedies pass, something good will come out of this experience. Would it be that this time Japanese will lead the way against the use of nuclear power? Not sure…
I am very calm. Outside, kids are playing… their eyes shine while I listen to their laughs in my heart.
Some things are beyond our petty desire for control…

That was a beautiful statement full of hope, no doubt. Another letter from Japan that has gone viral on the net these past few days is from a woman only known as Anne. A Gathering of Eagles friend from Anchorage, Alaska, forwarded it to us. Then Barbara Wolf from New Jersey sent it out on her Global Meditations Network, which covers the globe. Here it is:
Hello My Lovely Family and Friends,
First I want to thank you so very much for your concern for me. I am very touched. I also wish to apologize for a generic message to you all. But it seems the best way at the moment to get my message to you.
Things here in Sendai have been rather surreal. But I am very blessed to have wonderful friends who are helping me a lot. Since my shack is even more worthy of that name, I am now staying at a friend’s home. We share supplies like water, food and a kerosene heater. We sleep lined up in one room, eat by candlelight, share stories. It is warm, friendly, and beautiful.
During the day we help each other clean up the mess in our homes. People sit in their cars, looking at news on their navigation screens, or line up to get drinking water when a source is open. If someone has water running in their home, they put out sign so people can come to fill up their jugs and buckets.
Utterly amazingly, where I am there has been no looting, no pushing in lines. People leave their front door open, as it is safer when an earthquake strikes. People keep saying, “Oh, this is how it used to be in the old days when everyone helped one another.”
Quakes keep coming. Last night they struck about every 15 minutes. Sirens are constant and helicopters pass overhead often.
We got water for a few hours in our homes last night, and now it is for half a day. Electricity came on this afternoon. Gas has not yet come on. But all of this is by area. Some people have these things, others do not. No one has washed for several days. We feel grubby, but there are so much more important concerns than that for us now. I love this peeling away of non-essentials. Living fully on the level of instinct, of intuition, of caring, of what is needed for survival, not just of me, but of the entire group.
There are strange parallel universes happening. Houses a mess in some places, yet then a house with futons or laundry out drying in the sun.
People lining up for water and food, and yet a few people out walking their dogs. All happening at the same time.
Other unexpected touches of beauty are first, the silence at night. No cars. No one out on the streets. And the heavens at night are scattered with stars. I usually can see about two, but now the whole sky is filled.
The mountains of Sendai are solid and with the crisp air we can see them silhouetted against the sky magnificently. And the Japanese themselves are so wonderful. I come back to my shack to check on it each day, now to send this e-mail since the electricity is on, and I find food and water left in my entranceway. I have no idea from whom, but it is there. Old men in green hats go from door to door checking to see if everyone is OK. People talk to complete strangers asking if they need help. I see no signs of fear. Resignation, yes, but fear or panic, no.
They tell us we can expect aftershocks, and even other major quakes, for another month or more. And we are getting constant tremors, rolls, shaking, rumbling. I am blessed in that I live in a part of Sendai that is a bit elevated, a bit more solid than other parts. So, so far this area is better off than others. Last night my friend’s husband came in from the country, bringing food and water. Blessed again.
Somehow at this time I realize from direct experience that there is indeed an enormous Cosmic Evolutionary step that is occurring all over the world right at this moment. And somehow as I experience the events happening now in Japan, I can feel my heart opening very wide. My brother asked me if I felt so small because of all that is happening. I don’t. Rather, I feel as part of something happening that much larger than myself. This wave of birthing (worldwide) is hard, and yet magnificent.
Thank you again for your care and Love of me,
With Love in return, to you all,
Anne
This lady really gets it, doesn’t she? When one reads this, one is reassured that we are birthing something really good and Sacred on Gaia. Remember that we had a major solar eclipse on January 4, 2011 in Capricorn. Here is that link again:
Here is the comment that I made at the time of the Full Moon of Capricorn on January 19th:
Capricorn is about government and authority. Two recent examples in the current news are that the government of Tunisia was deposed by its citizens, and the Vatican is again in trouble with its authority and control issues. Many people are predicting very significant changes for the coming year. Floods and earthquakes are already happening all over the planet. Will we really go back to a primitive survival mode? Will governments and economies continue to experience their own “earthquakes”? These are certainly possibilities. Difficult and challenging times seem to be just around the corner for our planet. Let us remember that a birth can be messy and does involve some blood, but a new life comes forth as a blessing and renewal of spirit for all.
I agree with many others who feel that the earthquake in Japan is just the beginning. There will be many more Earth changes coming our way, ready or not. It appears that other governments have indeed experienced their own “earthquakes,” from Cairo to Madison. I knew that everything was going well when I heard that people in Egypt had sent pizza to the people in Madison. There was also that wonderful sign that the young man in Cairo held up which expressed solidarity of the people in Egypt with the people protesting in Madison. Now we get a chance to show our solidarity with the people of Libya and the rest of the Mideast. They need our help and prayers right now.
Update: Today is Saturday, March 26, 2011. Although the full moon has passes it is still very much in play. The people of Japan and Libya still need our prayers and support. Let us not forget all the people everywhere on the planet that are crying out for freedom. From Syria to the Ivory Coast, Yemen, Jordan, The West Bank, and in your home town people are demanding freedom. There is no peace without justice. So let it Be.
